Creating a Digital Portfolio
In this project, students will create a digital portfolio showcasing their learning in the subject of history. The learning outcomes for this project include:
- Students will be able to identify and reflect on their learning in history
- Students will be able to organize and present their learning in a digital format
- Students will be able to use technology to enhance their learning experience
Methodology
Students will begin by selecting a topic in history that they have studied throughout the year. They will then research and gather information on their chosen topic, using both primary and secondary sources. Next, they will organize their information and create a digital portfolio using a platform such as Google Sites or Weebly. The portfolio should include:
- An introduction to the topic
- Background information on the topic
- Key events and people related to the topic
- Reflections on their learning and how it connects to the broader context of history
- Visual aids such as images, videos, and infographics
Resources/Materials Required
- Access to computers or tablets
- Internet access
- Access to primary and secondary sources
- Access to a digital portfolio platform such as Google Sites or Weebly
Instructions
- Choose a topic in history that you have studied throughout the year
- Research and gather information on your chosen topic using primary and secondary sources
- Organize your information and create a digital portfolio using a platform such as Google Sites or Weebly
- Include an introduction to the topic, background information, key events and people, reflections on your learning, and visual aids such as images, videos, and infographics
- Submit your digital portfolio to the teacher for assessment
