2. Read a simplified story about ancient Egypt, highlighting key facts such as the Nile River, pharaohs, and mummies. Use visual aids and props to make the story more engaging.
3. After the story, show the students images of ancient Egyptian symbols and artifacts. Discuss their meanings and significance in the Egyptian culture.
4. Provide each student with construction paper, scissors, glue, and markers or crayons. Instruct them to create their own ancient Egyptian-inspired artwork using the symbols and images they have learned about.
5. Encourage the students to share their artwork with the class and explain the symbols they used.
6. Conclude the activity with a group discussion, asking questions such as:

- Why was the Nile River important to the Egyptians?
- What symbols did you use in your artwork and what do they represent?
