Instructions

Engagement Activity:

1. Begin the lesson by asking students what they know about animals. Write their responses on the board.

2. Introduce the concept of reading about animals. Show students different animal books or reading materials and explain that they will be exploring the world of animals through reading.

Reading Activity:

1. Provide each student with an animal flashcard or picture. Ask them to read the name of the animal and share one interesting fact about it.

2. Read a book or a short passage about animals aloud to the class. Pause at key points to ask comprehension questions and encourage discussion.

3. Divide the class into small groups and provide each group with a different animal book or reading material. In their groups, students can take turns reading aloud and discussing the information they learn.

Hands-on Activity:

1. Set up a station with art supplies and animal toys or figurines.

2. Instruct students to choose an animal they learned about and create a drawing or artwork representing that animal.
