Step 1: Introduction (10 minutes)
Begin the lesson by engaging students in a discussion about the importance of grammar in effective communication. Explain that grammar provides the structure and rules for constructing sentences.
Step 2: Parts of Speech Overview (15 minutes)
Introduce the eight parts of speech: nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections. Provide clear definitions and examples for each part of speech. Use visual aids, such as charts or diagrams, to enhance understanding.
Step 3: Group Activity - Parts of Speech Sort (20 minutes)
