Methodology:

Resources/Materials Required:
- Whiteboard or blackboard
- Markers or chalk
- Chart paper
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Magazines or printed pictures of healthy foods and physical activities
- Printed handouts of healthy habits checklist (one per student)
Instructions:
Step 1: Introduction (10 minutes)
Begin the lesson by asking students what they think it means to be healthy. Write their responses on the board.
Explain that being healthy means taking care of our bodies and making good choices for our overall well-being.
Step 2: Class Discussion (15 minutes)
Lead a class discussion on healthy habits. Ask students questions such as:
- What are some examples of healthy foods?
- Why is it important to eat fruits and vegetables?
- What are some ways we can stay active?
- How much sleep do we need each night?
Encourage students to share their ideas and knowledge about healthy habits.
Step 3: Healthy Habits Collage (20 minutes)
Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with construction paper, scissors, glue, and magazines or printed pictures of healthy foods and physical activities.
Ask the groups to create a collage showcasing different healthy habits. They can cut out pictures from the magazines or use the printed pictures provided.
Encourage creativity and teamwork as they work together to create their collages.
Step 4: Healthy Habits Checklist (15 minutes)
Give each student a printed handout of the healthy habits checklist.
Go through the checklist together as a class, discussing each healthy habit and why it is important.
Ask students to check off the healthy habits they already practice and circle the ones they would like to start practicing.
Step 5: Reflection and Conclusion (10 minutes)
Have a class discussion on what students learned about healthy habits.
Ask students to share one healthy habit they will start practicing or continue practicing.
Summarize the importance of healthy habits and remind students to make good choices for their overall well-being.
Assessment:
Assess students' understanding of healthy habits through their participation in class discussions, completion of the healthy habits collage, and their responses on the healthy habits checklist.
Observe students' collaboration and creativity during the collage activity.
Review the completed checklists to see if students have a good understanding of the healthy habits discussed.
Provide feedback and reinforcement to students as needed.
