Methodology:

- Timer

Instructions:
1. Preparing for the Spelling Bee:
- Select a comprehensive list of challenging words suitable for 11th-grade students. Ensure the words cover a range of difficulty levels.
- Divide the class into teams or individuals, depending on the number of students.
- Provide each team or individual with a copy of the spelling word list.
2. Conducting the Spelling Bee:
- Gather all the students in a designated area, such as the classroom or auditorium.
- Explain the rules and format of the spelling bee competition.
- Start with an initial round where each participant/team takes turns spelling a word from the list.
- If a participant/team misspells a word, they are eliminated from the competition.
- Continue with subsequent rounds, gradually increasing the difficulty level of the words.
- Use a timer to ensure participants have a limited time to spell each word.
- Encourage students to support and cheer for their classmates.
- The last participant/team standing will be declared the winner(s) of the Spelling Bee Extravaganza.
3. Word-Related Challenges:
- To further engage the students, incorporate word-related challenges throughout the activity. For example:
- Ask participants to use a misspelled word in a sentence with the correct spelling.
- Have participants create an acronym using a given word.
- Challenge participants to find synonyms or antonyms for selected words.
- Award bonus points for creative and accurate responses.
4. Assessment:
- Assess students' spelling abilities based on their performance in the spelling bee competition.
- Evaluate their understanding of word meanings and usage through the word-related challenges.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their spelling skills.
