Instructions:
Step 1: Introduction (10 minutes)
Begin the lesson by asking students about their favorite physical activities and sports. Discuss why physical activity is important for their health and well-being. Emphasize the benefits of regular exercise, such as improved strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.
Step 2: Group Discussion (10 minutes)
Divide the class into small groups and provide each group with a chart paper and colored pencils or markers. Instruct them to brainstorm and create a list of different physical activities they enjoy or would like to try. Encourage creativity and collaboration within the groups.
Step 3: Presenting Group Ideas (5 minutes)
Ask each group to present their list of physical activities to the class. Discuss the variety of activities and highlight the importance of trying different types of exercises to engage different muscle groups.
Step 4: Physical Activity Stations (20 minutes)
Set up activity stations around the classroom or outdoor area. Each station should focus on a different type of physical activity, such as jumping jacks, skipping rope, or running in place. Divide the class into small groups and assign each group to a station.
Explain the rules and demonstrate each activity at the respective stations. Set a timer or stopwatch for each station, allowing students to engage in the activity for a specific duration (e.g., 2 minutes). Rotate the groups to different stations after the allocated time.
