This lesson will be delivered through a combination of direct instruction, group discussions, interactive activities, and individual practice.

- Whiteboard or blackboard
- Markers or chalk
- Chart paper and markers
- Printed handouts with sentences for analysis
- Index cards or slips of paper
Instructions:
Step 1: Introduction (10 minutes)
Begin the lesson by asking students what they think grammar is and why it is important. Discuss the role of grammar in effective communication and writing.
Step 2: Parts of Speech Overview (15 minutes)
Introduce the eight parts of speech using visual aids and examples. Explain the function and role of each part of speech in a sentence. Provide clear definitions and examples for each part of speech.
Step 3: Group Activity - Parts of Speech Chart (20 minutes)
Divide the class into small groups. Provide each group with a large chart paper and markers. Instruct them to create a chart with the eight parts of speech as headings. Ask each group to brainstorm and write down as many examples of each part of speech as they can think of. Encourage creativity and collaboration.
Step 4: Sentence Analysis (15 minutes)
Distribute printed handouts with sentences for analysis. Instruct students to identify and label the different parts of speech in each sentence. Walk around the classroom to provide guidance and support as needed.
Step 5: Individual Practice - Sentence Creation (20 minutes)
Give each student a set of index cards or slips of paper. Instruct them to write one word on each card, representing a different part of speech. Once they have their cards ready, ask students to use the cards to create unique sentences that include all eight parts of speech. Encourage them to be creative and challenge themselves.
Step 6: Group Sharing and Reflection (10 minutes)
Invite each group to share their parts of speech chart and some of the sentences they created. Facilitate a class discussion on the importance of using different parts of speech effectively in writing and communication.
Assessment:
Assess students' understanding of the parts of speech through their active participation in the group activity, sentence analysis, and individual practice. Observe their ability to identify and label parts of speech accurately. Additionally, review the sentences they created to assess their application of knowledge.
